Trainee Programmes

At Volkswagen, we’re constantly looking to give a hand up to those who reflect the same innovation and initiative as the Volkswagen brand itself. Our range of Volkswagen Trainee Programmes offer developmental opportunities through the integration of academic knowledge and practical skills. These include:

  • Graduate Trainee Programme

    Designed for motivated, driven and dedicated individuals who possess excellent communication skills, leadership potential and an above average academic record. This is a 12 month intensive training programme including Personal Development, Leadership Development and On-the-job Training which will provide graduates with a solid foundation from which to build their careers. Interested graduates must have one of the following qualifications: University degree, 3 year Technikon diploma or post degree/diploma in various fields.
    Applications for the Graduate Trainee Programme open from 1 June – 15 August each year.

    The Programme is aimed at individuals currently in their final year of study. Provision will be made to recent Graduates with a maximum of 12 months formal work experience.

  • Technician Trainee Programme

    A 12 month Programme, giving trainee’s Experiential training covering P1 and P2 requirements of their degree/diploma. This programme is specifically based on Electrical, Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering areas. The training period spans between 6 to 18 months and once completed, trainees may then be considered for the Grad Trainee Programme. The required qualifications for this programme include an S2 to S4 Engineering diploma.
    Applications for the Technician Trainee Programme open from 1 June – 15 August each year.

  • Bursary Programme

    This programme is aimed at providing financial assistance as well as experiential training for students studying towards a qualification that is in a critical skills area. Bursaries are awarded according to specific company needs. The training is between 2 and 4 years in duration (depending on the qualification being obtained) and 2nd, 3rd and 4th year students can apply.
